Laser chiller service
A chiller temperature alarm shuts down the fibre laser source – and ignoring it risks damage to pump diodes and the fibre connector. We find the cause and restore the cooling circuit.
Common causes of temperature alarms
- Dirty condenser fins or failed fan
- Failed or worn circulation pump, flow switch
- Scaled heat exchangers, clogged filters
- Refrigerant loss in the cooling circuit
- Faulty temperature sensors or control
Scope
- Diagnosis
- Evaluating alarm codes, measuring temperatures, pressure and flow.
- Water circuit
- Pump overhaul, flow switch, deionising filter and resin cartridge, flushing the circuit.
- Heat exchanger
- Chemical descaling, cleaning condenser and fan.
- Control
- Calibrating both temperature circuits (laser source and optics).
- Refrigerant circuit
- Leak testing and charging only by certified personnel in line with applicable F-gas regulations.
